An Australian historian says using old aerial photographs to prove that crop circles are not the work of people with boards running through a meadow.
Greg Jefferys has evidence for the phenomenon found in scientific documents dating back to 1880.
He hopes his discovery will lead to new scientific research into crop circles. The 59-year-old Greg, who is particularly concerned with the search for shipwrecks, used photographs of Google Earth that were created 68 years ago.
Orange orb
It took him over 300 hours to the English countryside to comb, but eventually he found a large quantity of crop circles.
Greg told the Sunday Mercury that he started his search after reading an article in an edition of the scientific journal Nature from the 19th century. The article stated that crop circles since the 1700s are found.
Jefferys began searching near Stourbridge, where a BBC reporter in 2010 a strange orange orb was filmed.
The historian not only discovered crop circles, but also a number of circular prehistoric structures, one near Stonehenge lies. "The aerial photographs from 1945 to help in the search for prehistoric structures because the peasantry was still little used heavy machinery," explained Greg out.
High frequency electromagnetic radiation
What are crop circles then? According Jeffereys there is much evidence showing that high frequency electromagnetic radiation is involved in the creation of crop circles. It is not yet clear to him just how energy is generated and how the circular patterns.
Until 1990 did the British Ministry of Defence insisted that all crop circles were made by two-65s. That theory did not last longer when crop circles in California and Australia were discovered. The over-65s only traveled by bus.
Meanwhile the formations found in 29 different countries. Cynics still can not explain what happened on July 7, 1996 at Stonehenge happened. At 16.15 local time showed an RAF pilot know that there is nothing remarkable to see, and 15 minutes later, another pilot reported over the same area of a 275 meter band which consisted of 149 circles.
