Mysterious lights on the "promenade of the devil"

On a road, just outside the U.S. city of Joplin in Missouri, is a strange and mysterious light seen for years. Nobody there any explanation for it, and then the road is called also "Devil's Promenade".

The strange light is often described as a gold, red or blue light and is always seen in the form of one or more floating orbs.
